Arika:

I just took a few pictures of the outside and inside of my house. I actually have two houses on 2-1/2 acres, and I like to spend as much time as possible outdoors. I have been doing some major renovations on the property, inside and out, so things are a bit messy. And I'm not a neat-and-clean freak, being a long term bachelor. I'll start with just a few pictures - I don't know if there is a limit on email size.

This is the driveway on the southwest corner of the property. I live in the smaller house (known as 713 Warren Rd) behind my car. The larger house (715) is mostly used for workshops and storage, although my friend John is temporarily living there while he helps me with renovation and maintenance projects. He is also a dog lover, and was very fond of Mr Tibbs.

This shows my other house (715) and the access road which leads to the lower (northeast) corner of the property. I usually have walked my dogs (Mr Tibbs and Muttley) down this road and also on an upper access road to a meadow on the hill behind the houses. There is also a 30' x 60' fenced area where I can allow the dog(s) to run and play safely.

This shows a path to the rear of the 713 house. The back yards are very small because of the steep hill.

This is the small living room. Mr Tibbs stayed here during the last few weeks of his life, when he could no longer climb the stairs.

These are the stairs to the second floor. I installed some carpeting so that Mr Tibbs could go up and down safely, when he still had the strength to do so.

This is the bedroom, where I spend most of my time, using my computer, watching TV, and doing some electronics projects. I usually sleep in a sleeping bag on the old Sleep Number bed. Mr Tibbs was never able to get up on the bed, and it would have been unsafe for him to do so because of his size and age. Muttley usually slept on the bed with me, and that is what I'd prefer. But there is room for a dog bed in the corner if that does not work out.

I hope this gives you a good idea of what sort of home I will be sharing with a dog. Here is a picture of me and Mr Tibbs when I first met and adopted him at the BCAS event in June 2017:

And here is a funny picture of my previous dog Muttley, on my bed with another dog, Lucky, whom I also rescued from BARCS "death row" in 2007. I got her adopted by a nice family through Defenders of Animal Rights.

I am free this afternoon and evening until 11:00 PM. I am a night owl so I'm usually not up until the "crack of noon", so tomorrow afternoon and evening are also OK.

Thanks,

Paul

Good evening,
Thank you so much for your interest in adopting from All Shepherd Rescue. I am the volunteer who is going to set up a time to do your virtual home visit. Can you please let me know a time that would work best for you and everyone in the household? My schedule is fairly flexible this week. If you could let me know a few times that would work for you, we can get it scheduled pretty quickly!

Also, we can do this via Google Meet or Zoom. Do you have a preference?

It often streamlines things if you can send pictures in advance of the main parts of your home (places where the dog would have access to/spend time) and your front/back yard. Then we can spend less time "touring" and more time just focused on chatting through what you're looking for in a new companion!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Have a great day,

Arika
